“My interest in the spinning wheels was stirred by a picture of Kors Pers standing by his kick sled full of wheels, with the mention of Siljansnäs in the caption. I had just moved into the former parish house in Siljansnäs to expand my studio for textile conservation work. I put out a plea on a Facebook Forum for more information and wrote that I was interested in buying a Hjulbäck spinning wheel. Answers poured in from all around the country and even as far as the U.S. I didn´t have to travel far, though, to find Kicki Englund Frost, a spinner and weaver with a big heart for local crafts and heritage. She was willing to part with one of her wheels, and for me it was love at first turn.”
